Joanna Randall

Joanna is founder of Essence Yoga Studio and has been practising yoga for over 20 years since going to an Astanga class suggested by a friend.

Since then she has explored many different styles of yoga as a student from Vinyasa, Iyengar, pre and post natal and Yin. She is passionate about making yoga inclusive for everyone no matter age, experience or ability and debunking the myths that Yoga is only for the flexible, people who can touch their toes or those who look good in lycra!

Qualified in the Yogasara method (550 hours) Joanna teaches different class types including a regular weekly flowing style which focuses on combining breath with movement underpinned by explanation of Yoga as an ancient wisdom teaching. She also runs a weekly Yoga as Physical Therapy session.

She has completed the Advanced Teacher Training with Yogasara, Bristol and is a member of the Yoga Alliance Professionals.

Available for one-to-one and small group sessions and running weekly classes alongside beginner’s courses.

KC

Her style is fun and playful, she weaves in wisdom from her training, insight inspired by nature and the wider world she's travelled as well as knowledge from the world of health and wellbeing.

She believes yoga is for every body and aims to offer a balanced flow combining strength and flexibility - expect a class where you'll explore, expand, connect and find rest.

Her invitation is the opportunity to meet yourself where you are, with a heartfelt smile.

KC first came to Yoga over 20 years ago, seeking something to calm her busy mind, to find quiet in the madness of daily life. What she's learnt since about breath, body, mind and movement has been transformational - a movement medicine that soothes the soul.

She trained as a teacher back in 2020 to share what she'd learnt and to help a wider global community find their mind, body & breath connection.

She completed her first Teacher Training (the ‘Yogasara Method of Krama Vinyasa Tantra’ - 250 hours) at Yogasara Bristol in 2021 and continues to study on the Advanced Teacher Training cohort (250 hours).

Anna Powell

Anna is a yoga teacher and a neuroscientist. Her spiritual enquiries and scientific training fuel an ever-present wonder at the beautiful complexity of our physical form and the ways it shapes our experience. These two modes of inquiry weave together in her practice and teaching, offering contrasting frames of reference and complimentary ways to explore what it means to be human.

Drawn to the yogic lineages of non-dual Shiva Tantra, Anna has come to see yoga as a process of gradually unravelling unhelpful self-story and of connecting with the sacredness inherent in all aspects of experience. Her motivation to teach comes from a desire to keep the wisdom of these teachings alive so that others may benefit from their transformational power.

Anna has over 500 hours of yoga teacher training and feels lucky to have learnt  from many incredible teachers including Padma Nair in Kerala, Sarah Harlow and Sam Burkey at Yogasara in Bristol and Christopher Gladwell, who continues to be her primary teacher.
